Brian Keating (Alberta Resident)

speakerImage Biography: Brian was born in Medicine Hat, and graduated in 1976 with a Fish & Wildlife Diploma, 'With Distinction', from Lakeland College, Ab and in 1979, a B.Sc. in Environmental Science, Brandon University, Mb. He has over 30 years of experience in natural history interpretation, has two Honorary degrees, one from Brandon University (2009), and the other from the U of C (2011). Voted “One Of The Top 10 Contemporary Calgarians” by the students of the Calgary Board Of Education in 2005; he was also presented with the “Alberta Centennial Medal Award” in recognition of “outstanding work for the communities and province of Alberta”. Readers Digest awarded him the “Canadian Hero of the Year”, for his global environmental efforts, and in 2011,"The Brian Keating Conservation Fund" at the Zoo was re-named in his honour. He's also a "Fellow" with the Canadian Geographical Society, and the "Honorary Chief of Dompie" (a village in Ghana), due to his involvement in the development of a nature sanctuary
