Alissa Boyle (Edmonton Regional)

speakerImage Biography: As the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta’s (APEGA) Outreach Manager, Alissa Boyle oversees the association’s K-12 and University Outreach programs. Her primary focus is on empowering students through impactful STEM experiences. Prior to joining APEGA Alissa was the Outreach Director of DiscoverE, one of Canada’s largest STEM outreach programs. She led her team to design & deliver hands-on, curriculum-based programs to 100,000 youth in 70 communities across Alberta. While working at DiscoverE, they became the world’s only three-time Google RISE Award winner. Alissa and her team designed, recorded, and launched the world’s first Massive Open Online Course on coding for youth, delivered by youth. Alissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Alberta. She was named one of The Wanderer Online’s Top 100 Edmonton Women in Business in 2013 and Alberta Venture Magazine’s Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People in 2015.
