Biography: Taylor Rubin was born and raised in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) on Treaty 6 Territory as Sami and a third-generation settler Canadian. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Education with a Community Service-Learning and Engagement Certificate at the University of Alberta. Taylor has since worked in the role as a First Nations, Métis and Inuit Cultural Liaison with EPSB supporting Indigenous education, Treaty relationship building and cultural exchange, and is humbled to be working alongside students, families, and educators in their learning journeys. As an advocate for community-based learning and allyship, Taylor works to support the community within Victoria School of the Arts to foster a greater understanding of who we are, where we come from and how we relate to one another through community building and a social justice lens. Taylor is a graduate of the Next Up Social Justice Leadership Program and has been recognized and featured as an Ally as part of Edmonton’s Stay WOC Festival.
